Butte College Phi Theta Kappa honor students Samantha Lucas and Natalie Chavez earned placement on the 2022 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-California Academic Team.
This year, 114 students were chosen from across the California Community Colleges for the All-California Academic First, Second and Third Teams. Lucas captured a spot on the First Team, while Chavez secured a spot on the Third Team. Placement in the teams is based on students’ grades, leadership, and community service. The students selected represent some of the best of the two million students enrolled in California's 116 community colleges.
PTK, the International Honor Society for two-year colleges, recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. Established in 1918, PTK has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations including Butte College.
